About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking chemical research firm, is seeking a talented Chemical Process Development Scientist to join their innovative team. Operating remotely, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing novel chemical processes for a range of groundbreaking applications. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation techniques, applied to bring new chemical entities from lab-scale conception to robust pilot-scale manufacturing. You will collaborate with a distributed team of experts, contributing significantly to the company's research pipeline and product innovation efforts, with potential project involvement in areas related to Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize chemical synthesis routes and processes.
• Perform bench-scale and pilot-scale experiments to validate process viability and gather data.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed technical reports and presentations.
• Utilize process modeling and simulation tools to enhance process understanding and efficiency.
• Identify and troubleshoot potential process issues, proposing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with upstream (R&D) and downstream (manufacturing) teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property by documenting novel processes and findings.

Requirements
