Placements24 is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with strong project management capabilities to lead and execute diverse engineering projects in Pretoria. The role balances strategic remote planning with essential on-site oversight and collaborative teamwork.

You will manage scope, budget, and schedule while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. A PMP-aware mindset and strong leadership will drive successful delivery across multiple concurrent projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical process design/operations, with at least 3 years in project management.
• Proven track record of managing multiple engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP principles).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and closure of chemical engineering projects within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and stakeholder management strategies.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth project progression.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and safety/regulatory requirements.
• Present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
