Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial operations from its Klerksdorp HQ. The role requires a seasoned executive with deep insurance industry knowledge, capital markets experience, and regulatory expertise to shape strategy and profitability.

You will oversee planning, treasury, tax, reporting and investor relations, guiding the company through growth while ensuring long-term financial stability. Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
• At least 5 years in a CFO or senior financial leadership role within the insurance industry.
• Experience in financial strategy, capital management and mergers & acquisitions.
• Deep understanding of IFRS 17 and Solvency II concepts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations of the insurance group in Klerksdorp, including accounting, planning, treasury and tax.
• Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support growth.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reporting.
• Maintain relationships with investors, analysts and banking partners.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the executive team and board.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks and lead finance teams.
• Drive initiatives to optimize capital structure and shareholder value.
