Job summary

Tiger Brands is seeking a strategic Group Category Sourcing Lead to develop and execute a robust PS&OP driven sourcing strategy across categories. You will build category competency, understand market dynamics, and align with business needs to mitigate risks and unlock value.

You will lead a team of planning professionals, drive best practices with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain, and champion inventory management to support EBIT and cash flow targets.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in planning within FMCG/retail environments.
• Experience in Customer Service Levels (Volume & Value).
• Stock Cover Days & Value management.
• 2+ years leading a team of commodity managers and sourcing specialists.
• Experience managing a category spend of R5bn+.
• Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
• PS&OP process maturity and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a Group Category sourcing strategy to deliver value and mitigate risks.
• Lead and develop a team of supply and demand planning professionals with IPA appraisals.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to drive PS&OP best practices.
• Drive customer service excellence across the portfolio.
• Oversee PS&OP tools implementation (Demantra, ASCP, Oracle, IO).
• Review S&OP KPIs and define corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Drive inventory management aligned to Net Working Capital and service targets.
• Consolidate PS&OP outputs at Portfolio level.
• Manage risk via monthly exception management and contingency plans.

You are responsible for developing and executing a Group Category sourcing strategy for your respective category that will deliver best procurement value and mitigate supply risks. You will establish a distinctive competency and understanding of the category characteristics, Tiger Brands' business needs and the prevailing market dynamics.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Manage and continuously improve the execution of the PS&OP process to generate business plans (demand, supply, product management)
• Manage and develop a team of supply and demand planning professionals, conduct individual performance appraisals/IPA
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain functions to drive implementation of best practice PS&OP processes (inclusive CPFR)
• Lead and drive customer service excellence throughout the portfolio (internally and externally)
• Drive the usage and manage implementation and maintenance of PS&OP Tools (e.g. Demantra, ASCP, Oracle, IO etc.)
• Drive continuous improvement by reviewing all S&OP KPI's (e.g. demand plan accuracy & bias, customer service, Stock Cover Days & Value & Conformance to Plan & BIAS), define areas of improvement and propose corrective actions towards the relevant stakeholders.
• Drive inventory management in line with Net Working Capital and customer service targets to unlock cash
• Consolidate the individual category PS&OP outputs at Portfolio level.
• Consolidate unresolved Demand & Supply Planning risks, manage the monthly exception management process on identified risks and develop contingency plans with categories to close the gaps

Experience

• 6+ experience in planning, experienced in FMCG, retail & make to stock environment desirable
• Experienced in Customer Service Levels (Volume & Value), OSA/OOS%
• Stock Cover Days & Value
• 24 months rolling Profit analysis (risks, opportunities, actions)
• Forecast Accuracy & forecast Bias
• PS&OP Process Maturity
• Stock write offs
• Experienced in leading and managing a team of commodity managers and sourcing specialists to ensure your category team delivers the strategy whilst ensuring a healthy relationship with the business and suppliers.
• Experienced in managing a category spend of R 5bn+.
• Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management
