Sparwood Health Centre in Sparwood, BC, seeks a Casual Medical Office Assistant to support patient experiences and healthcare services. The role involves a range of clerical and medical office duties within a collaborative team.

Hours are rotating 08:30 to 16:30, with shifts available on short notice to cover leaves. This casual position offers variety, opportunities for growth, and exposure to comprehensive benefits and training.

Qualifications

• Typing test: minimum 40 wpm, within last 24 months from a recognized institution.
• Medical Office Assistant certificate or proof of course completion.
• Grade 12 plus two years’ recent related experience (or equivalent).
• Resume highlighting skills and relevant experience
• Cover Letter including availability to start a new position.

Responsibilities

• Registering patients, scheduling and confirming appointments.
• Answering telephones, general correspondence, record keeping, chart notes, reports, medical billings.
• Data entry and word processing, graphical and database applications.
• Compiling and entering statistical information.
• Writing correspondence including recording, transcribing and typing forms.
• Balancing and checking revenue transactions.
• Managing medical/surgical supplies and equipment and related materials.
• Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare instruments/supplies.
• Attend procedures and routine measurements (weight, BMI, eye exams, urinalysis).
• Clean and sterilize medical equipment and dispose of supplies.
