Smith Garb And Associates Cc in Selby, Johannesburg is seeking a meticulous Cashbook Clerk to manage the full cashbook function within our finance team.

You will handle daily bank reconciliations, process payments, follow up on reconciling items, and support the Group Accountant with general accounts duties.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years' cashbook experience, a Matric certificate, and a keen eye for detail and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate
• 2–5 years' experience in a Cashbook Clerk role
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage daily financial transactions efficiently

Responsibilities

• Capture bank statements accurately on a daily basis.
• Reconcile and balance sundry, trade creditors and debtors cashbooks.
• Perform timely monthly cashbook reconciliations for management accounts.
• Follow up on and clear outstanding reconciling items.
• Handle bank-related queries efficiently.
• File Absa bank statements and maintain accurate records.
• Close cashbooks and print relevant cashbook reports for filing.
• Assist with general accounts department duties as required by the Group Accountant.
• Process foreign payments and other ad hoc payments.
