Placements24 is seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to join the Polokwane finance team. You will support the Financial Accountant and broader finance function in recording and reporting financial transactions, including ledger management and reconciliations, while assisting with financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP/IFRS principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Pastel, SAP Business One).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of bank statements and balance sheet accounts.
• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes under supervision.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and analyses for management review.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and supporting documents.
