Shift Pursuit in Cape Town is seeking motivated SAICA and SAIPA Trainees to gain practical accounting experience and work toward professional training contracts.

Ideal candidates are eager to learn, detail‑oriented and ready to contribute to financial records, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance while developing their skills under senior accountants.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent, completed or in progress.
• Intention to pursue or continue SAICA/SAIPA training.
• Strong accounting knowledge and analytical abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Previous accounting or auditing experience is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Assist with preparation and maintenance of financial records.
• Process accounting entries, journals and bank transactions.
• Perform reconciliations and prepare schedules.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Support VAT, PAYE and SARS compliance requirements.
• Assist with general bookkeeping and accounting functions.
• Maintain client records and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with clients to obtain relevant financial information when required.
• Work closely with senior accountants and managers across various client portfolios.
• Gain practical exposure to accounting, financial reporting and compliance processes.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.
