Job summary

Novus Print: Montague Gardens in Cape Town seeks two experienced Digital Printers on four-month fixed-term contracts to operate Canon colour digital presses and the Canon ColorStream. You will ensure production targets and quality standards are met, monitor colour and substrate handling, and perform routine maintenance.

Applicants should have Matric, and 3+ years’ experience with high-volume digital presses; Artisan in Prepress or Press is advantageous. Role is on-site in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• 3+ years recent experience with high-volume digital presses.
• Practical experience on Canon presses and color/registration control.

Responsibilities

• Operate Canon colour digital presses and/or Canon ColorStream web press.
• Produce work to job specs, targets and quality standards.
• Monitor colour, registration, image quality and substrate handling.
• Perform basic fault-finding and routine preventative maintenance.
• Monitor stock levels and arrange consumables.
• Maintain health, safety and housekeeping in production.
