Position Overview

Safe Working Practice Cape Town is seeking a suitably qualified and SACPCMP-registered Candidate Construction Health and Safety Agent (CanCHSA) to join our professional team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional construction health and safety services throughout the project life cycle. A key responsibility of this position will be conducting health and safety audits at work permit sites to verify compliance with applicable legislation, approved health and safety plans, work permit requirements and project-specific safety standards. The candidate will also be responsible for identifying non-compliances, recommending corrective actions, monitoring compliance and compiling professional reports for clients.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate sound technical knowledge, professional judgement and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Professional Registration

Active registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as a Candidate Construction Health and Safety Agent (CanCHSA).

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, construction health and safety or a related field.
• Experience in construction health and safety auditing, compliance monitoring and report writing.
• Working knowledge of construction project life-cycle processes, contractor management and work permit systems.
• Experience in compiling, reviewing and assessing construction health and safety specifications, plans, risk assessments and supporting documentation.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites.
