Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with a specialization in Cancer Biology to join our pioneering team in Port Elizabeth. The role focuses on investigating fundamental mechanisms of cancer development, discovering therapeutic targets, and designing experiments to advance patient outcomes.

You will perform molecular and cellular biology techniques, analyze complex data, contribute to proposals and manuscripts, and collaborate with clinicians and other researchers in a dynamic

Qualifications

• PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related field.
• Proven cancer research experience and strong principles of cancer biology.
• Hands-on in cell culture, PCR and Western blot; flow cytometry or microscopy preferred.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Port Elizabeth.

Responsabilités

• Design and conduct experiments on signaling pathways and cancer models.
• Perform cell culture, gene expression analysis and protein assays.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data using appropriate stats and software.
• Contribute to proposals, manuscripts and presentations.
