Job summary

Emeris Sandton Campus is seeking a dedicated Student Wellness Specialist to support emotional and mental health services for students. You will provide counselling, develop coping strategies, and help connect students with external resources as needed.

You will also plan and roll out awareness campaigns, engage with community partners, and manage budgets for wellness initiatives, ensuring robust reporting and student support across campus.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate Diploma/Bachelor Honours in Counselling Psychology or Social Work required.
• 2+ years trauma counselling and 2 years community engagement experience.
• Registered with SA Social Work Council or relevant body; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counselling to students and assess referrals for external services.
• Offer coping techniques and discuss referral options.
• Establish trust and open communication between campus and students.
• Assist in establishing a referral network for secondary counselling.
• Lead awareness campaigns on mental health and coordinate guest speakers.
• Plan and monitor bi-annual community outreach, citizenship and volunteering programmes.
• Coordinate KHUMO project partnerships with schools and NGOs.
• Manage budgets for Cares committee and student wellness activities.
• Support reporting and administration of Student Wellness services.
