Our client is looking for a dedicated CAD Drafter - Electrical & Substation Design to support their Georgia-based engineering team by translating technical markups into precise substation design drawings. You'll work independently using AutoCAD to execute changes flagged by engineers, often receiving marked-up drawings at the end of their day and delivering completed work by the next morning. This role offers the chance to learn specialized substation design fundamentals while contributing to critical utility infrastructure projects with long-term stability.
Schedule: Flexible hours to support an asynchronous workflow (candidates in Philippines or South Africa timezones preferred). All deliverables will align with the Client's timezone: Eastern Time (Georgia, USA)
Responsibilities:
- Execute CAD drawings and revisions based on engineer markups created in Bluebeam or Adobe software
- Produce accurate substation design drawings using AutoCAD to meet project specifications
- Work independently with minimal supervision once trained on project standards and client requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of client drawings and project information under NDA
- Collaborate with US-based engineers through clear English communication
- Adapt to asynchronous workflow, receiving markup packages and returning completed work on opposite schedules
- Learn and apply high-voltage substation design standards and best practices through on-the-job training
- Support project deadlines while maintaining quality standards across multiple utility projects
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with demonstrated drafting experience
- Excellent English communication skills for direct collaboration with US-based engineers
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction once trained
- Willingness to work on US Eastern Time schedule or flexible hours for asynchronous collaboration
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely with provided software licenses
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and signing project-specific NDAs
- Prior experience with high-voltage substation design (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with electrical utility projects or infrastructure drawings (nice-to-have)
- Experience with Bluebeam or Adobe markup review workflows (nice-to-have)
- Experience working with US-based clients or teams (nice-to-have)
Why Join This Team:
