Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Buyer for on-site procurement in Mossel Bay, focused on timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and supplies for production. You will collaborate with production, logistics, and quality teams to maintain optimal inventory and support manufacturing schedules.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in a Buyer role in a manufacturing/industrial setting, strong negotiation skills, and experience with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a Buyer in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Proven sourcing and supplier negotiation experience.
• Familiarity with inventory management and ERP systems.

This is an on-site position focused on ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, components, and supplies essential for production. You will work closely with production, logistics, and quality control teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and support manufacturing schedules. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of material sourcing within the industrial sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials, components, and equipment according to specifications and quality standards.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure reliable supply.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and resolve any issues related to delivery or quality.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier information, and pricing.
• Collaborate with the inventory management team to forecast material needs and manage stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with all company purchasing policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Buyer , preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven ability in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers for raw materials and components.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and ERP software .
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required for daily interaction within the Mossel Bay facility.
