Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Buyer specializing in agricultural inputs to join their Upington team. The role focuses on sourcing fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, and equipment, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery while managing inventory to optimize costs.

Ideal candidates will have proven procurement experience in agriculture, strong vendor relationships, and proficiency with inventory systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Buyer or in procurement, preferably in agricultural inputs.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural supplies, farming practices and supply chain.
• Excellent negotiation skills and experience in vendor management.
• Proficiency with inventory management systems and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers for agricultural inputs and related equipment.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Manage procurement process from requisition to receipt, including orders and tracking.
• Maintain records of purchases, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
