Job summary

Profile Personnel is seeking a Buyer to join the automotive procurement team. You will source production components, manage RFQs, quotations, and supplier negotiations while driving localisation and cost competitiveness to ensure uninterrupted production.

You will analyse supplier performance, prepare business cases, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and logistics to resolve issues and implement changes on schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years purchasing experience in automotive manufacturing or automotive supplier industry.
• Degree or Diploma in Purchasing, Logistics, Commerce, Finance, Business Management, or a technical qualification.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills; ability to engage at all organisational levels.
• Experience with production components; electrical harness experience advantageous.

Our client in the automotive industry is seeking a motivated and driven Buyer to join their Procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and managing production components while driving localisation initiatives, cost competitiveness, and ensuring continuity of supply to support production.

Key Responsibilities

• Source production components and manage RFQs, supplier quotations, and negotiations.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and benchmark supplier pricing.
• Present sourcing recommendations and business cases to relevant committees.
• Manage supplier readiness, capacity planning, and tooling requirements.
• Coordinate and implement engineering changes within required timelines.
• Support production, quality, and logistics by resolving supplier-related issues.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Purchasing, Logistics, Commerce, Finance, Business Management, or a technical qualification (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Quality, Operations, or Production Management).
• Minimum of 3 years' purchasing experience within the automotive manufacturing or automotive supplier industry.
• Experience with production components; electrical harness experience and technical product knowledge will be advantageous.
• Strong negotiation, problem‑solving, and conflict management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage at all organisational levels.
• Advanced MS Excel and overall computer literacy.
• Sound understanding of financial analysis, costing, business, and project management principles.
• Strong customer and supplier relationship management skills.
• German language proficiency will be advantageous.
