Job summary

Ikwezi Mining is seeking a Buyer to procure materials, equipment and services for mining operations. You will support the Senior Buyer and Procurement Manager to ensure purchases are cost-effective, timely, and compliant.

Key responsibilities include PO creation, supplier database maintenance, supplier relationship management and inventory monitoring. The role calls for strong coordination with site teams and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
• Maintain and update the supplier database
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock without overstocking
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure efficient inventory flow
• Conduct regular inventory audits
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Ensure procurement activities are within budget constraints
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation
• Assist in preparing reports and presentations for management
