Job summary

Pick n Pay Retailers is seeking a Butchery Manager to lead the Butchery and Fish departments in a PnP Corporate store. You will plan, organize, direct, motivate and provide practical operational support to achieve departmental objectives.

The role requires at least 2 years of supervisory experience and knowledge of meat cuts, production processes and food safety standards. Candidates must thrive in cold, wet conditions and deliver excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day management of the Butchery and Fish departments.
• Support stock ordering, receiving, merchandising, and product availability.
• Monitor stock levels and assist in reducing shrinkage and wastage.
• Ensure attractive product displays and merchandising standards.
• Prepare and break meat carcasses and produce quality value-added products.
• Operate butchery equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain product quality and production standards.
• Ensure cold chain compliance and proper handling procedures.
• Supervise, motivate, and support team members.
• Assist with staff training and performance management.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and expert product knowledge.

The Butchery Manager is responsible for the leadership and supervision of the Butchery department within a PnP Corporate store. This function includes the planning, organizing, directing, motivating, controlling and providing practical operational support in the running of the Butchery in order to achieve the Butchery Division and the Pick n Pay’s objectives.

Minimum Requirements
