Job summary

Propr is seeking a Business Development Manager based in Johannesburg to sign up new clients and properties ranging from apartments to large portfolios. You will guide owners through the sales journey, set up meetings, and coordinate with onboarding and operations to ensure a smooth handover.

You will visit properties, present the service, negotiate sign-ups, and build lasting relationships with owners, investors and partners while working across our internal teams to onboard properties

Qualifications

Job description

As a Business Development Manager, your primary focus will be signing up new clients and properties, from individual apartments and homes to larger portfolios and entire buildings. You’ll guide prospective owners through the full sales journey, helping them understand how short-term rentals work, what they can realistically expect to earn, what’s required to operate successfully, and how we manage their property on their behalf. Once an owner signs up, you’ll also play an important role in getting their property ready to launch, working closely with our onboarding and operations teams to ensure a smooth handover. This is a varied, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys working with people, is highly organised, and is equally comfortable presenting to a client, working through detailed admin, or spending the afternoon visiting properties across Johannesburg.

What you’ll be doing:

• Responding to new sales enquiries and managing prospective clients through the sales pipeline
• Setting up and conducting meetings, video calls and property viewings
• Presenting Propr’s service and clearly explaining how we manage short-term rental properties
• Conducting property visits and inspections
• Advising owners on what is required to prepare and operate their property successfully
• Setting realistic expectations around performance, operations, guest requirements and the owner experience
• Preparing revenue projections to help prospective clients understand the potential earning opportunity for their property
• Negotiating and completing the client sign-up process
• Building strong relationships with individual property owners, investors, developers and other industry partners
• Working closely with our internal onboarding, operations, revenue and property management teams to onboard properties
• Facilitating the final handover and introduction between the owner and their assigned Property Manager
• Keeping sales, and onboarding information accurate and up to date across our internal systems
