Job summary

Dutoit Services (Pty) Ltd., with its office in Midrand, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager: Fresh Produce to grow Dutoit Agri’s fresh produce business across retailers and municipal markets in the northern regions of South Africa and selected African markets.

You will identify opportunities, source produce, and build key accounts while upholding the group’s values of integrity and accountability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in fresh produce marketing, trading or business development in South Africa.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including cross-border travel.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business and trading opportunities
• Source fresh produce according to market demand
• Manage and grow key customer accounts
• Develop cross-border trading opportunities in selected African markets
• Represent Dutoit Agri in the northern region and key municipal markets
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms
• Build strong relationships with customers, growers and industry role players
• Monitor market trends, pricing and competitor activity
• Coordinate customer requirements internally
• Grow a sustainable and profitable portfolio of business
• All other tasks related to the role.

With its office based in Midrand, has a position available for an experienced Business Development Manager: Fresh Produce. The main focus of the role will be to grow Dutoit Agri’s fresh produce business across retailers and municipal fresh produce markets in the northern regions of South Africa, as well as selected African markets, through new business development, sourcing and trading.

An entrepreneurial mindset, strong commercial instinct and the ability to identify and create opportunities are qualities of the ideal candidate. The successful candidate will have the drive to grow a profitable portfolio of business while upholding the Group’s values of integrity and accountability.
