The role requires experience across the full change lifecycle in financial services, strong modelling, and the ability to facilitate workshops, manage ambiguity, and drive improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business information systems, Finance, or related field required; CBAP/CCBA advantageous.
• 6+ years of business analysis experience delivering technology-enabled change end-to-end in financial services.
• Strong capability in current/future state analysis, root-cause analysis, and modelling (process maps/BPMN, customer journeys, use cases, data definitions).
• Proven ability to elicit, document, and manage requirements within a Scrum framework; maintain traceability from intent through delivery and testing.
• Confident facilitator of workshops and decision forums; align stakeholders and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.

Investec Sandton is looking for a Business Analyst with a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable business and technology solutions. You will be part of a multi-functional software delivery team responsible for the end-to-end change lifecycle, from concept and problem definition through to delivery and benefit realisation.
As a Business Analyst, you will operate comfortably across business and technology domains, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements and solution designs. You will work closely with product owners, engineers, architects, UX designers, testers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions are well-defined, feasible, and aligned to business strategy.
In addition to being strong in core business analysis practices, we are looking for someone who proactively identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen delivery practices, and enhance Investec's overall business and technology capabilities.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in business information systems, Finance, or a related field is required; BABOK-aligned certification (CBAP/CCBA) is advantageous.
• 6+ Years of business analysis experience delivering technology-enabled change end-to-end (preferably within financial services), including discovery, requirements definition, delivery support, and benefits realisation.
• Strong capability in current/future state analysis, root-cause analysis, and modelling (e.g., process maps/BPMN, customer journeys, use cases, and data definitions).
• Proven ability to elicit, document, and manage requirements within a Scrum framework; maintain traceability and clarity from intent through to delivery and testing.
• Confident facilitator of workshops and decision forums; able to align diverse stakeholders, manage ambiguity, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

A good knowledge of the following tools and processes are required

• Backlog and delivery tooling (Jira / Azure DevOps) including user story writing, refinement, and traceability.
• Requirements and documentation practices (e.g., Confluence / SharePoint) including decision logs, RAID logs, and clear sign-off/approval artefacts.
• Process and journey modelling using tools such as Visio / Miro / Lucid chart, and the ability to present complex information simply.
• Testing and validation practices including defining test scenarios, supporting SIT/UAT, and managing defects and change requests through to closure.
• Data analysis using Excel and (where applicable) SQL to validate requirements, reconcile data, and support decision-making.
• Understanding of delivery governance, risk and controls (e.g., auditability, access, approvals), and how to embed these into requirements and operational processes.

Additional skills that can be helpful

• Domain experience in financial services, lending, investments, or banking operations.
• Exposure to product management practices (roadmaps, OKRs, value measurement) and the ability to translate strategy into delivery-ready scope.
• Technology literacy (e.g., understanding APIs, data flows, and integration patterns) to enable effective collaboration with engineering and architecture teams.
• Change and operational readiness experience (impacts, procedures, training, comms) to support smooth adoption and sustainable outcomes.
