Placements24 is seeking a courteous Bus Driver to operate public transport routes in the Welkom area, serving commuters, students and the public. You will follow scheduled routes and times, ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers and punctual arrivals.

The ideal candidate holds a Code 10 license with PDP and public transport endorsement, with at least 3 years of bus driving experience and strong knowledge of the Welkom road network. Communication skills and professionalism are essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate buses in a safe, responsible, and timely manner according to assigned routes and schedules.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers, including assistance during boarding and disembarking.
• Perform daily inspections of the bus, including brakes, tires, lights and other equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Adhere to traffic laws, public transport regulations and company policies.
• Provide helpful information to passengers regarding routes and schedules.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a courteous and responsible Bus Driver to operate public transport routes within the Welkom area. You will be responsible for adhering to scheduled routes and times while ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers. The ideal candidate possesses excellent driving skills, a strong sense of duty, and the ability to interact positively with a diverse range of passengers, contributing to the smooth operation of public transit in the Free State, and ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and punctually.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate buses in a safe, responsible, and timely manner according to assigned routes and schedules.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers at all times, including assisting passengers with boarding and disembarking.
• Perform daily inspections of the bus, checking brakes, tires, lights, and other essential equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and report any maintenance issues or mechanical problems immediately.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, public transport regulations, and company policies.
• Provide helpful information to passengers regarding routes and schedules when necessary.

Requirements

• Valid Code 10 driver's license with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP) and public transport endorsement.
