Job summary

Dixie Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on Building Services to join their East London team. You will design, install, and maintain electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with codes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with at least five years’ building services design experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design for building services.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Experience with lighting design, power distribution, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for new construction and renovations.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure conformance with design specs and quality standards.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants for integrated designs.
• Perform load calculations, voltage drop analyses, and short-circuit calculations.
• Ensure compliance with national electrical codes (e.g., SANS) and energy efficiency standards.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing building systems.
