Job summary

Ecolution Consulting in Cape Town is seeking a specialist building commissioning lead to own the end-to-end process across mechanical, electrical, wet services and controls. You will centrally coordinate the project team, driving rigour beyond design engineers and ensuring robust commissioning outcomes.

The role offers hybrid working with flexible hours, opportunities for growth, and involvement in high-profile projects across Africa, including LEED and Green Star submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering with building services focus.
• 3–5 years of experience in building commissioning, energy auditing, or building services design.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, wet services and controls.
• Ability to read plans and building system designs.
• Strong reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and coordinate commissioning across MEP disciplines.
• Review design documents to optimise efficiency and maintainability.
• Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and test scripts.
• Conduct site visits and witness functional testing.
• Identify issues and work with clients and contractors to resolve.
• Prepare commissioning reports and documentation.
• Lead tuning on completed buildings for Green Star and LEED submissions.
• Manage project tasks to budget and schedule.
