Job summary

Fidelity Services Group in Saldanha is seeking a responsible Armourer/Security Officer to manage vault operations, receive and distribute consignments, and ensure firearms are safe and functional. The role requires PSIRA Grade C, firearm competency across handgun/shotgun/rifle, and strong communication skills.

Candidates should be physically fit and able to work under pressure, with experience in armoury duties preferred. The position supports the branch and involves overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Clear criminal record

Responsibilities

• Prepare for vault room duties
• Plan vault room schedules with CIT
• Receive and distribute consignments to and from CIT teams
• Scan consignments
• Balance vault and lock up
• Sort consignments
• Documentation and administration duties
• Searching duties
• Take full responsibility and accountability for all firearms
• Issue and receive all firearms to and from the armoury
• Report delays to the Branch Manager including incident prevention and reporting
• Take preventative action towards any suspicious activity
• Keep all registers up to date
• Ensure that all firearms are clean and functional

Reporting to the Operations Manager

The above position is vacant at our Saldanha Branch. The overall purpose of this position is to distribute and receive consignments, and additionally issue and receive firearms.

Minimum Requirements:

• Clear criminal record
• PSIRA accredited with a minimum Grade C qualification
• At least 1 years’ experience in security industry or similar role
• Computer literate (compulsory)
• Firearm competency including completed firearm training in handgun, shotgun and rifle
• 1-2 years’ experience in armoury duties is advantageous
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Able to work under pressure
• Physically fit
