Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking an experienced Restaurant & Kitchen Manager for a private boutique game farm in Thabazimbi. The role oversees both restaurant and kitchen operations, ensuring high food quality, service standards and guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will lead a small team, work closely with the chef, manage stock and costs, and uphold hygiene and safety standards in a lodge environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing restaurant and kitchen in a lodge or boutique hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, stock control and food cost management.
• Hands-on leadership of a small team with guest-focused service.
• Flexibility to work hospitality hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day restaurant and kitchen operations.
• Coordinate with the chef to maintain food quality and presentation.
• Assist with menu planning and meals to suit guest requirements.
• Manage stock, ordering, rotation and portion control.
• Monitor costs, minimise wastage and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations.
• Ensure hygiene and food safety standards in all areas.
• Coordinate service to ensure attentive, professional guest experiences.
• Supervise the kitchen and restaurant team, including kitchen staff and waitstaff.
• Provide hands-on kitchen support when needed.
• Create a welcoming dining experience reflecting the boutique game farm standard.
