Job summary

West Coast Personnel is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town to maintain accurate financial records and perform bookkeeping up to Trial Balance. The role requires a Certificate in Bookkeeping to Trial Balance and at least 5 years of relevant experience, with strong skills in creditors, cashbook, reconciliations and month-end processes.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Bookkeeping to Trial Balance is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Experience processing accounts up to Trial Balance.
• Strong creditors, cashbook, reconciliation and month-end experience.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software and SARS eFiling.
• Good understanding of VAT, accounting principles and financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage cashbooks, invoicing, payments, banking and bank reconciliations.
• Process and reconcile creditors, credit cards, petty cash and foreign transactions.
• Prepare journals, accruals and month-end supporting schedules.
• Resolve supplier queries and maintain accurate supplier records.
• Monitor cash flow requirements and bank balances.
• Prepare VAT, audit, stock and management-reporting documentation.
• Assist with stock counts and analyse operational expenses.
• Maintain accurate financial records, supporting documentation and filing systems.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general finance administration.
