Job summary

A leading Financial Services Provider in South Africa is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team in Bellville. This permanent position offers an opportunity to contribute to a high-performing finance team. Responsibilities include processing invoices, maintaining supplier relationships, preparing tax returns, and assisting with audits. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of bookkeeping experience and a certificate in Bookkeeping or Accounting.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years' bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Bookkeeper II.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments.
  • Prepare cash books, bank reconciliations, and supplier reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit preparation and year-end procedures.

Hire Resolve's client, a leading Financial Services Provider (FSP) in the wealth management and insurance space, is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team in Bellville. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to contribute to a high-performing finance team within a reputable organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and follow up on outstanding issues
  • Prepare cash books, bank reconciliations, and supplier reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and process journal entries
  • Prepare routine reconciliation schedules and ensure accurate financial records
  • Process customer invoices, statements, and deposits; assist with collections
  • Report on daily cash and bank balances and coordinate payment processes
  • Prepare VAT, EMP, and Income Tax returns for simple entities
  • Assist with audit preparation and year-end procedures
  • Support management reporting and budgeting tasks
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to team tasks and projects

Requirements
  • Grade 12 with Accounting
  • Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping/Accounting (or equivalent)
  • 5 to 7 years' bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Bookkeeper II
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Sage X3, Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills
  • Team-oriented with a methodical and focused approach
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary
