Job summary

Overview

Boiler and Kiln Superintendent required for a reputable manufacturing company based in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape.

Requirements

• Matric / NTC 3
• Relevant technical experience and ability with tools and mechanical workings, if not trade tested
• Strong experience in the operations of Boilers
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a boiler operations environment
• Willing to work irregular hours and perform standby duties
• Willing to work overtime, incl. weekends
• Experience in a sawmilling environment will be preferred

Responsibilities

• Running the daily activities of the Boiler & Kiln operations
• Ensure compliance of all plant, machinery and auxiliary equipment to relevant statutory health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations, as well as Company policies & procedures.
• Control of spare part inventories, and critical spares.
• Monitor and control costs.
• Manage training and development of departmental employees.
• Ensuring and improving the performance, productivity & efficiency.
• Managing all staff in accordance with labour laws and company policies
• Ensuring a high-level housekeeping standard in the department
