Job summary

Cashbuild Limited in South Africa is seeking a Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor to oversee cutting and edging operations, ensure quality and smooth processing, and coordinate workers per customer specifications. Responsible for machinery maintenance and safety adherence in the work area.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
• 2 years managerial or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
• 1 year experience working with cutting and edging machinery would be advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Minimise wastage through accurate calibration of machines according to cutting list.
• Read and interpret cutting lists to minimise wastage and customer complaints.
• Perform daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Provide reliable, prompt customer service.
• Ensure effective employee scheduling to provide exceptional customer service.
• Advise customers correctly on products and assist with queries.
• Assist with customer complaints timely; be available in your area of responsibility.
• Ensure area is neat, stock is merchandised, and safety standards are met (OHSA).

Description:

Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor is responsible for monitoring cutting & edging operations, quality and smooth running of cutting & edging processes. He/she needs to supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in cutting& edging fabric as per customer specifications so to minimise losses to the company. Responsible for the maintenance on all machinery.

Requirement:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
• 2 years carpentry experience would be advantageous
• 2 years managerial or supervisory experience would be advantageous
• 1 year experience working with cutting and edging machinery would be advantageous
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
