Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Research Assistant to support our Biotechnology research team in Rustenburg. The role involves hands-on lab work, assisting senior scientists, and contributing to projects aimed at developing novel biopharmaceutical products.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology or a related field, prior lab experience, and a passion for scientific discovery in a collaborative setting. Strong safety awareness and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry or related field.
• Prior laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively within a team.
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory experiments under supervision, including cell culture and molecular assays.
• Prepare reagents, media, and solutions according to established protocols.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and records.
• Operate and calibrate common laboratory equipment safely.
• Assist in the organization and inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
