Job summary

Takealot Group in South Africa is seeking a BI Engineer to partner with stakeholders to design dashboards, data models and reports using Google BigQuery and Looker. You will lead BI analytics projects and ensure data quality across pipelines.

The role requires strong SQL and data warehousing experience, plus the ability to translate business questions into technical solutions. We offer a hybrid working model and growth opportunities across Takealot Group’s brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, with 5+ years BA or related technical experience (or 8+ years if no degree).
• Minimum 3 years experience using BI reporting tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Microsoft BI).
• Minimum 3 years SQL experience.
• Minimum 3 years Data Warehousing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead BI analytical projects as part of implementing new BI tools (Google BigQuery, Looker).
• Work on complex, cross-functional BI solutions and evaluate stakeholder needs.
• Plan, design, develop and test BI solutions and dashboards.
• Contribute to information quality metrics and data pipelines reviews.
• Develop best practices for dashboards deployments and provide guidance to teammates.
