Job summary

Belay Talent Solutions is seeking a Junior Data Analyst on a 6-month contract in Cape Town. You will collect, clean, and analyse data, build dashboards, and generate reports to support decision making across the organisation and its clients.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or related field.

• 0–1 year of experience in data analysis, reporting, or BI.
• Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
• Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources.
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI/Tableau.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and anomalies.
• Write and optimise SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
• Support senior analysts and data scientists with projects and ad hoc requests.
• Document data definitions, rules, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Operations to understand data needs.
• Monitor data pipelines and data quality issues.
• Develop data dictionaries and data catalogues for consistent metrics.
• Prepare and present regular KPI reports to management.
• Assist in defining and tracking KPIs aligned to business objectives.
• Conduct data profiling and root cause analysis for variances.
• Support A/B testing and other experiments.
• Contribute to improving reporting processes and analytics framework.
