Job summary

Tiger Brands is seeking a packaging development specialist to lead the successful development and launch of sustainable, cost-effective packaging. You will re-engineer existing packaging and collaborate with suppliers to deliver packaging products that meet product and manufacturing needs.

You will work with the Product Technologist, Manufacturing, and R&D to create packaging specifications, manage trials, and ensure changes are controlled and well-documented.

Qualifications

• Three years in packaging development within an FMCG industry.
• Packaging Diploma or equivalent would be an advantage.
• Food Science Qualification or similar would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage packaging from concept through commercialization.
• Collaborate with suppliers to deliver packaging products on time and to spec.
• Create packaging design specifications and requirements for manufacture.
• Conduct packaging pilot plant trials and document results.
• Support artwork management and final packaging artwork sign-off.
• Ensure documentation and reporting are timely and concise.
