Job summary

takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is seeking a Senior Planner (Beauty) to join the Beauty Buying team in Cape Town. You will own the in-stock function, budgeting, forecasting, and inventory management, while driving efficiency and profitability.

You will lead a team and collaborate with central analytics, technical and product teams to deliver value. The role reports to the Head of Planning and requires 5+ years in retail planning, with Beauty category experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in commerce/finance/economics or maths is required.
• Minimum 5 years of retail planning experience.
• Beauty category experience in retail/FMCG is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee in-stock function including demand planning, ordering and capacity management.
• Deliver accurate insights and reports for department managers to inform revenue and margin plans.
• Develop and own bottom-up budgeting and reforecasting at category/product levels.
• Manage end-to-end inventory health and availability, including markdowns and returns to supplier.
• Drive process improvements within the supplier base to reduce costs and lead times.
• Lead and develop the buying assistants team.
• Support operations to deliver a world-class customer experience.
