We are looking for an energetic, professional and guest-focused Barman / Bartender to join our lodge team in KwaZulu-Natal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an exceptional beverage and guest service experience, preparing and serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining a well-organised bar, and ensuring that guests receive friendly, efficient and personalised service throughout their stay.

- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, soft drinks and speciality coffees.
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked bar at all times.
- Ensure correct portion control and presentation of all beverages.
- Prepare drinks according to lodge standards and individual guest preferences.
- Assist with bar stock control, including receiving, storing and monitoring beverages.
- Conduct regular stock counts and report shortages, breakages or discrepancies to management.
- Ensure all bar equipment, glassware and utensils are cleaned and maintained.
- Follow responsible alcohol service practices and lodge procedures.
Guest Service
- Provide warm, professional and personalised service to lodge guests.
- Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Learn and remember guest preferences wherever possible.
- Make recommendations regarding wines, cocktails and other beverages.
- Assist with beverage service during meals, sundowners, bush dinners and special events.
- Prepare and serve drinks at outdoor guest experiences where required.
- Handle guest requests, questions and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere and contribute to an exceptional overall guest experience.
Lodge & Team Support
- Work closely with the restaurant, kitchen, front-of-house and guiding teams.
- Assist with general lodge duties when required.
- Support housekeeping and restaurant teams during busy periods where necessary.
- Assist with setting up and clearing dining areas, bush dinners and special functions.
- Participate in lodge activities and events as required.
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and professionalism.
- Follow all lodge health, safety, hygiene and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred.
- Experience in a luxury lodge, hotel, restaurant or safari environment will be advantageous.
- Good knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Basic cocktail-making knowledge.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, energetic and adaptable.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good command of English.
- South African ID or valid legal working rights in South Africa.
- Salary from R6500.00 per month
