Job summary

RCL Foods in Durban is seeking a General Worker on a fixed-term contract in its baking business, reporting to the Production Manager. The role requires hands-on manufacturing exposure and a willingness to learn.

You will perform start-up checks, monitor equipment, report issues, maintain clean work areas and hand over to the next shift. Matric with basic baking exposure is required; bakery experience is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• Basic baking and loading exposure is preferred.
• Manufacturing or bakery experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Do start-up checks on equipment as per procedures
• Report breakdowns and machine issues to the team leader
• Look after equipment and utensils
• Keep the work area clean and tidy ("clean as you go")
• Do a handover with the next shift
