Job summary

Pick n Pay Wonderpark Bakery is seeking a Trainee Bakery Manager to oversee resources, adhere to SOPs and drive turnover while minimising shortages. The role requires bakery experience and the ability to transfer between stores.

You will ensure product quality, hygiene standards and timely opening readiness, while coaching staff and coordinating promotions. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required; NQF 3 Bakery qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years bakery experience; experience as baker/bakery supervisor.
• The role may require transfer between stores.

Responsibilities

• Merchandising management and quality checks on merchandise.
• Executes plano guide 100% and adheres to SOPs.
• Ensures products are produced according to recipe specifications.
• Department ready for trade by store opening time.
• Identify fast selling lines and margin opportunities.
• Ensure product is wrapped/packed to standards and stock rotation is maintained.
• Maintain hygiene, housekeeping and food safety standards.
• Monitor promotional activities and calendar adherence.
• Coach staff, set targets, and manage scheduling in Kronos.
• Monitor turnover and opportunities to increase turnover; manage waste.
