Job summary

AnywhereNow seeks a seasoned Cloud Operations Engineer to strengthen the South Africa-based team supporting US Eastern Time operations. The role focuses on operating and improving Azure-based production environments, with Terraform-managed infrastructure and AKS workloads.

You will serve as a senior escalation point (L4), drive automation, and contribute to reliability enhancements while aligning with ET business hours from South Africa.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Operations, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles.
• Strong hands-on Azure experience across VMs, networking, identity, storage, and monitoring.
• Proven Terraform in production environments.
• Experience with AKS and automation scripting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and optimize Azure production environments for high availability, performance, and reliability.
• Lead on-call rotations and troubleshoot complex cloud incidents across compute, networking, storage, and AKS.
• Drive automation to reduce toil and improve runbooks and alerting thresholds.
• Maintain Terraform-managed infrastructure and troubleshoot IaC issues.
• Manage AKS clusters and workloads, including health, scaling, and networking.
