Placements24 in Kimberley is seeking a proficient Aircraft Sheet Metal Worker to join our maintenance team. You will fabricate, fit and repair sheet metal components for aircraft, interpret blueprints, SRMs and engineering drawings, and ensure airworthiness through precise workmanship.

The role requires skilled use of drills, rivet guns, shears and forming machines, with careful attention to aluminum alloys and structural integrity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in aircraft sheet metal work or similar in aerospace or aviation.
• Ability to fabricate, fit and repair sheet metal components for aircraft.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft blueprints, technical drawings, and repair manuals.
• Skilled with sheet metal tools and equipment (drills, rivet guns, shears, forming machines).
• Strong understanding of aircraft materials (e.g., aluminum alloys) and their properties.
• Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality work in Kimberley.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and form sheet metal parts for aircraft structures according to blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Repair damaged aircraft skin, framework and other metal components using rivet and sealing techniques.
• Fit and install sheet metal parts onto aircraft structures with precise alignment and fastening.
• Read and interpret SRMs, blueprints and engineering drawings to guide repair and fabrication.
• Perform layout, cutting, drilling and shaping of metal stock to exact requirements.
