Job summary

Safair Operations in Kempton Park, South Africa, is seeking an Aviation Safety Inspector to join our Quality and Safety Compliance team. You will conduct audits, investigate incidents, monitor the SMS, and liaise with SACAA to ensure regulatory compliance and safety excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or Aeronautical Engineering and at least five years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive experience in aviation safety, quality assurance, or aircraft maintenance inspection.
• Proven experience in airline environments or with civil aviation authorities.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or Aeronautical Engineering.
• Certifications in Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS) or Quality Auditing are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of aircraft and maintenance facilities.
• Investigate safety occurrences and incidents, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS).
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, including SACAA, during audits.
• Develop and deliver safety briefings and training sessions to flight crews.
