Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector focused on aircraft components in Benoni, Gauteng. The role combines on-site inspections with remote documentation review, requiring strong aviation QA knowledge and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in aviation QA, understands SACAA requirements, and can read complex drawings and manuals. The position offers growth through training and exposure to various component repairs within a renowned MRO environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in aviation QA/inspection with aircraft components.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and Part 145.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience with inspection techniques and measurement devices.
• Knowledge of SACAA requirements.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Time management to balance on-site and remote duties.
• Relevant technical qualification or certification in aircraft maintenance or quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of aircraft components, parts, and materials against approved data and specs.
• Verify maintenance, repair, and overhaul processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., SACAA).
• Inspect incoming materials and components for damage, defects, and PO compliance.
• Witness and verify conformity of repair work by technicians, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
• Utilize inspection tools and equipment, including NDT methods where applicable.
• Document all inspection findings, measurements, and test results.
• Review and approve maintenance records, work orders, and component tags before release.
• Identify non-conformities and initiate corrective action requests (CARs).
• Conduct internal audits of work areas and processes for quality management system compliance.
• Assist in training junior inspectors and technicians on standards and procedures.
