Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Aviation Compliance Officer for our client in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role combines on-site operations with remote administrative tasks to ensure safety and regulatory compliance within a dynamic aviation environment.

You will monitor activities, conduct audits, maintain records, and liaise with regulators to ensure SACAA compliance. A relevant degree and at least 3 years of aviation compliance experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in aviation compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related role.
• Thorough knowledge of South African aviation regulations and general aviation practices.
• Experience in conducting audits and preparing compliance documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all company operations and activities comply with relevant aviation regulations, including SACAA and other applicable bodies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Conduct regular internal audits and inspections of operational areas, documentation, and safety management systems.
• Monitor changes in aviation legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on company operations and implementing necessary adjustments.
• Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory authorities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Investigate any compliance breaches or discrepancies, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate and organized compliance records, including licenses, certifications, maintenance logs, and training documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory inspectors and external auditors during compliance reviews and inspections.
• Promote a strong compliance culture throughout the organization, providing guidance and training to staff as needed.
