Placements24 client is seeking an Automotive Systems Integration Engineer to join their Benoni-based team. The role blends on-site collaboration with remote work, focusing on integrating electrical, mechanical and software subsystems for optimal vehicle performance.

You will define system architecture, develop test plans, and collaborate with hardware, software and controls engineers to ensure CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernet compatibility and robust validation across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in automotive systems engineering with focus on integration.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• Experience with system integration tools and diagnostic techniques.
• Proficient in scripting (Python) for test automation is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and collaborative skills for a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Integrate subsystems such as powertrain, chassis control, infotainment and ADAS.
• Define system architecture and interfaces for compatibility.
• Develop and execute system-level test plans and validation strategies.
• Analyze data, troubleshoot integration issues and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and mechanical engineers.
• Create and maintain system integration documentation and test reports.
• Participate in design reviews and assess feasibility and risks.
• Monitor system performance in simulated and real-world environments.
