Placements24 has partnered with a leading automotive manufacturer in George, Western Cape, to hire an Automotive Quality Assurance Specialist. The role focuses on implementing QC processes, audits, and continuous improvement to ensure product conformity and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive QA, strong SPC/quality tools knowledge, and excellent collaboration across production, engineering and supply chain. Hybrid work is available.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in automotive QA.
• Strong knowledge of QMS, SPC and quality tools (FMEA, APQP, PPAP).
• Experience with internal & external audits.
• Proficient in data analysis using Excel and QA software.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder influence.
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards and ISO/TS 16949 is desirable.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the automotive manufacturing landscape, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Automotive Quality Assurance Specialist to join their esteemed operation in George, Western Cape . This role is crucial for upholding the stringent quality standards expected in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring quality control processes, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will work collaboratively with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring that all products meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures across all production lines.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and audits of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and develop corrective and preventive action plans to address non-conformities.
• Collaborate with the production team to ensure adherence to quality standards and process controls.
• Manage customer complaints and warranty claims related to quality issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
• Facilitate internal and external quality audits, ensuring compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949).
• Train and guide production personnel on quality-related matters and best practices.
• Participate in product development teams to provide quality input and ensure design for quality.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and work with procurement to resolve supplier-related quality issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems, statistical process control (SPC), and quality tools (e.g., FMEA, APQP, PPAP).
• Experience with conducting internal and external audits.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools like Excel and specialized QA software.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels.
• Familiarity with automotive industry quality standards is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site responsibilities with remote collaboration.
