Placements24 is seeking an experienced Automotive Interior Design Specialist to join their Paarl design studio. You will conceptualize and develop aesthetically pleasing and ergonomic interior environments for future vehicle models, translating brand identity into compelling interior designs using clay models, renderings, and material samples.

The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio, 3-5 years in automotive interior design, and proficiency in Alias, Sketchbook Pro, Photoshop, and 3D modeling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or Transportation Design.
• 3–5 years of automotive interior design experience.
• Strong portfolio of interior concepts and executions.
• Proficiency in Alias, Sketchbook Pro, Photoshop and 3D modeling tools.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop interior design concepts, sketches, and renderings aligned with brand strategy.

This role focuses on conceptualizing and developing aesthetically pleasing, functional, and ergonomic interior environments for future vehicle models. You will translate brand identity and customer insights into compelling interior designs, working with clay models, digital renderings, and material samples. The ideal candidate is a passionate designer with a keen eye for form, color, and material, dedicated to crafting unique and desirable automotive interior experiences that resonate with target consumers and elevate the brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative interior design concepts, sketches, and renderings that align with brand strategy and market trends.
• Create detailed 3D models and digital renderings of interior components and complete cabin layouts using industry-standard software.
• Select and specify interior materials, colors, and finishes, considering aesthetics, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with safety regulations.
• Present design proposals to stakeholders, articulating the rationale and vision behind each concept.
• Stay informed about emerging trends in automotive design, user experience, and material innovation.

Requirements
