Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Automotive Electronics Technician for our Upington facility to diagnose and repair complex vehicle electrical systems, including ECUs, sensors, CAN bus networks, wiring and lighting.

You will work with advanced diagnostic tools, multimeters and oscilloscopes, perform wiring diagrams interpretation, and ensure safety and quality standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Qualified Automotive Technician with relevant trade certification (e.g., NQF Level 3 or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience specifically focused on automotive electronics repair.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical and electronic issues in modern vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive electronic systems, including engine control, ABS, airbags, and climate control.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and scan tools to identify faults.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, service bulletins, and manuals to guide troubleshooting and repair.
• Perform checks on batteries, alternators, starters and lighting systems.
• Install and troubleshoot electronic accessories and aftermarket equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and communicate findings to customers.
