Qualifications

• 6+ years in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• 5+ years in Test Automation.
• Strong experience with xUnit / NUnit, C#/.NET, REST API testing, Postman/Bruno, SQL and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own testing activities across projects and BAU initiatives from planning through release.
• Design and execute risk-based test strategies covering functional, integration, API, regression, end-to-end and UAT testing.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and regression suites.
• Build and execute automated tests using xUnit, NUnit, C#/.NET and Playwright.
• Perform API testing using Postman/Bruno and validate data with SQL.
• Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing.

Role : Automation Tester with Playwright & C# - Cored Banking Experience

About the Role

Seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to join the Core Banking Team based in Sandton.

The Senior QA Engineer – Core Banking is responsible for ensuring quality across the Finacle Core Banking platform and its integrations with channels, data platforms, APIs and downstream systems. The role drives an automation-first approach, combining effective manual and automated testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Working closely with the Global QA Lead and cross-functional delivery teams, the role provides technical leadership across test strategy, automation, CI/CD and quality engineering practices, while mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement across the Core Banking testing capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Own testing activities across project and BAU initiatives from planning through to release.
• Design and execute risk-based test strategies covering functional, integration, API, regression, end-to-end and UAT testing.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and regression suites.
• Build and execute automated tests using xUnit, NUnit and C#/.NET and Playwright
• Perform API testing using Postman/Bruno and validate data using SQL and Azure Cosmos DB where required.
• Integrate automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Analyse requirements to ensure complete business and technical test coverage.
• Manage defects through to resolution and contribute to root cause analysis and quality improvements.
• Lead and execute testing for integrations, data migrations and data validation across Core Banking systems.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote quality engineering best practices across the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle.

Technical Skills & Experience

Essential

• 6 + years’ experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• 5 + years’ experience in Test Automation.
• Strong experience with:
  • o xUnit / NUnit
  • o C#/.NET
  • o REST API testing
  • o Postman or Bruno
  • o SQL and Azure Cosmos DB
  • o Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines
• Strong understanding of STLC, SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience implementing automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

Core Banking Knowledge

• Experience testing Core Banking or Financial Services platforms.
• Finacle experience is highly desirable.
• Experience testing complex integrations, APIs, data migrations and end-to-end banking processes.
• Understanding of financial data integrity, reconciliation and regulatory risk.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Provide quality leadership and take accountability for testing outcomes across multiple initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with developers, analysts, product owners and business stakeholders.
• Mentor junior testers and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA practices.
• Champion automation-first and quality engineering principles.

Preferred Skills

• Azure Application Insights and KQL.
• Performance or security testing experience.
• Experience working with cloud-native applications and microservices.
