Job summary

Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd is seeking an automation tester to support a leading financial services institution in South Africa, focusing on quality engineering and test automation for core banking applications.

You'll analyze and enhance automation scripts, develop test cases, design scalable automation, and collaborate with QA, development, and business stakeholders. Experience with Java, Spring Boot, API testing, and performance testing with JMeter is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ testing experience.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Test Analysis training or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with API testing using Postman and SoapUI.
• API documentation skills including Swagger.
• Familiarity with Git and BitBucket.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and enhance automation scripts for core banking applications.
• Create and maintain test cases based on Business Requirement Specifications.
• Design scalable and maintainable automation scripts.
• Review and optimise existing testing processes.
• Collaborate with QA, Infrastructure, Architecture, Development, and Business stakeholders.
• Create and execute performance tests using JMeter.
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Demonstrate leadership while working with the Technical Team Lead.

Where You'll Make an Impact:

• Analyze and enhance automation scripts for core banking applications.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test cases aligned with Business Requirement Specifications.
• Design scalable and reliable automation solutions to improve testing efficiency.
• Review and optimise existing testing processes to foster continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Infrastructure, Architecture, Development, and Business stakeholders.
• Create and execute performance tests using JMeter.
• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities while working closely with the Technical Team Lead.

Duties:

• Analyse new and existing automation scripts
• Create and maintain test cases based on Business Requirement Specifications
• Design robust, scalable, and maintainable automation scripts
• Review existing processes and suggest improvements
• Collaborate with stakeholders across QA, Infrastructure, Architecture, Development, and Business
• Create and maintain performance tests using JMeter
• Participate in root cause analysis and troubleshooting
• Demonstrate leadership qualities and work closely with the Technical Team Lead

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' testing experience

What We'll Give You:

• Salary: R500,000 - R800,000 per year (Cost to Company)
