Job summary

FAAC Technologies' Centurion Systems division seeks an Intermediate Automation Engineer to lead automation opportunities across departments. You will design, deploy and maintain automation agents, build components of an internal AI platform, and promote reusable services to lower costs.

The role combines strong engineering with business engagement, enabling measurable improvements. You will mentor engineers, document solutions, and ensure governance and security across the automation lifecycle,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in software development, automation, data engineering or a related discipline.
• Practical experience developing AI, large language model or automation-based solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one additional typed programming language (Java, TypeScript, C# or similar).
• Experience integrating enterprise systems through APIs.

Responsibilities

• Engage independently with multiple business departments to map processes and prioritise automation opportunities.
• Translate process problems into technical solutions with scope and risk assessments.
• Design, build, deploy and maintain production automation agents end to end.
• Build and maintain core components of an internal AI platform, including gateways and routing policy.
• Extend platform capabilities using reusable services to reduce custom work for each department.
• Implement governance, budgets, guardrails and audit logging for the platform.
• Own operational health of platform components, including monitoring and incident response.
• Ensure automation complies with data classification, privacy and security requirements.
• Run adoption activities via training, demonstrations and documentation.
• Contribute to technical direction by evaluating models and tools.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the department.
• Maintain clear technical documentation covering architecture and procedures.
• Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
